This blog is for our friends and family across the U.S. to keep up with our lives. I am Joy, married to Shane for over 20 years. We are blessed with four wonderful children, Lauren, Samuel, Hannah and Levi. Shane is in the Navy, so we have made many friends in many locations. Our moves are never easy, but the last one was the hardest. We left WA state Sept 2007, and left an awesome church and many wonderful friends! We currently live in South Carolina.

I LOVE the colors in your home!!!!!!! They are so beautiful. Did you choose the colors or were they that way when you moved in? So awesome!
THANK YOU!! :) We chose the colors ourselves. When we bought the house it was all totally white. The funny thing is, we have never jumped right in and painted a home. This is our 3rd one. I bought it while Shane was out to sea and while in AR we went to Lowe's and picked out colors. We moved ourselves, so we just loaded the paint on the truck and got to work right away. Shane did the chair rail and crown molding all by himself and has never done any of it before. I was quite delighted that he was willing to learn it all. It has been a joy to do all this. We had the granite put in last Dec. I SO love that! We have never lived where there was granite counter tops. I would SO LOVE to have cherry hardwood floors, but not sure that will happen. Shane isn't wanting to learn that one, and I can't say I blame him. But I don't want to have to pay someone because labor is not cheap. For now we are enjoying the house a lot. Oh and my kitchen color was chosen from Yankee Candle's color Citrus and Sage. We couldn't decide on a color for the longest. That was the only room that was done later than the rest of the house. But I bought the candle and was quite excited to find it matched quite well with our colors. We did get the granite after painting.
That is so awesome! I really dislike painting but I love the end result. I am so proud of your choices! What a great eye!!!
